2026-02-16 17:06

On February 16th, Alibaba released Qwen3.5-Plus, a new generation of large language model, which is now the world's strongest open-source model, rivaling Gemini 3 Pro. The Qwen3.5-Plus has 3970 billion parameters in total, with only 170 billion activated, achieving superior performance over the trillion-parameter Qwen3-Max model. It reduces deployment memory usage by 60% and increases inference throughput up to 19 times. The API price for Qwen3.5-Plus is as low as 0.8 yuan per million tokens, just 1/18th of Gemini 3 Pro's. Trained on a mix of text and visual data, it represents a breakthrough in native multimodal capabilities, excelling in various benchmarks including reasoning, programming, and Agent intelligence, and achieving top scores in visual understanding evaluations. The Qwen3.5-Plus model is already available on the Qwen app, PC, and can be downloaded from ModelScope and HuggingFace, or accessed via Alibaba Cloud's API service.
