Customs and Border Protection Agent Fires Shots During San Bernardino Operation
During a targeted enforcement operation in San Bernardino, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers conducted a vehicle stop in which a subject refused to exit his vehicle and allegedly tried to run down the officers, according to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). DHS stated that in the course of the incident, the suspect drove his car at the officers and struck two CBP officers with his vehicle, prompting a CBP officer to discharge his firearm in self-defense. Eyewitness accounts indicate that unmarked cars and masked men surrounded the vehicle, and an armed officer fired shots at the vehicle, resulting in bullet holes. The suspect escaped the scene.
