Chinese Suspect Surrenders in Thailand Over Model's Drug-Related Death

A tragic incident in Thailand has led to the investigation of a Chinese national for the death of a 21-year-old model, who was found dead in a hotel room in Bangkok on February 10, 2025. The model, identified as Airada, was reportedly coerced into consuming a new synthetic drug known as "Happiness" while providing sexual services for 6,000 Thai Baht. Despite her attempts to resist, she was forced to take the drug, ultimately resulting in her death from an overdose. Following her death, the suspect, a 37-year-old Chinese man, fled to Laos but was monitored for over four months by Thai police during their investigation. On June 27, 2025, after significant pressure, he returned to Thailand and surrendered to authorities accompanied by a lawyer. He has been charged with multiple offenses, including the sale of Class A drugs (including amphetamines and ecstasy) and reckless endangerment leading to death. Authorities previously sought a warrant for his arrest immediately following the incident. The suspect claims that the model willingly consumed the drugs, a point likely to be contested during further legal proceedings.
