The first shooting happened around 10 p.m. on Monday near South 28th Avenue and East Lake Street, where eight people were shot, and about 30 shots were fired. Five of the victims were found on-site, with two having bullet wounds to the head, and three additional victims arrived at hospitals independently. A tent caught fire during the incident, and firefighters were called to extinguish it. The second shooting occurred around 11:10 a.m. on Monday near the Interstate 35W Lake Street Station, at East Lake Street and Stevens Avenue in the Lyndale neighborhood. Five men were injured, with one suffering life-threatening injuries, and four others sustaining non-life-threatening injuries. Two of the injured were found inside the transit center, and one was found on a nearby walkway.
