Japanese Political Parties Propose Lifting Restrictions on Arms Exports
The Liberal Democratic Party and the Ishin Party in Japan have submitted a proposal to Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi. The proposal advocates for the removal of five types of restrictions on arms exports and, in principle, allows the transfer of weapons with lethal capabilities. The Japanese government has stated that it will consider this proposal and plans to revise the relevant guidelines as early as this spring.
