Oklo and Lightbridge to Explore Co-Location of Advanced Nuclear Fuel Manufacturing Facility
2025-08-12 05:02

Lightbridge Corporation (Nasdaq: LTBR) and Oklo Inc. (NYSE: OKLO) have jointly announced plans to assess the co-location of a Lightbridge fuel fabrication facility within Oklo’s planned advanced fuel manufacturing facility. This strategic step builds on a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) previously signed between the companies.

The collaboration aims to accelerate the commercialization of advanced nuclear fuels and aligns with White House executive orders issued in May 2025 that prioritize the deployment of nuclear energy in the United States. The proposed co-located facility would produce fuel for both fast reactors and light water reactors, emphasizing the use of repurposed plutonium sourced from legacy nuclear materials.

As part of the partnership, the companies will establish a joint research and development hub dedicated to advanced fuel development. This initiative is intended to strengthen U.S. energy security and enhance the reliability of the domestic nuclear fuel supply chain.
