2025-07-04 14:02

James Russell Kahl, 65, and Carly Kahl, 41, were arrested on August 8 in Redstone Township, Pennsylvania, for allegedly keeping their five children, aged 5 to 14, in deplorable living conditions. The Fayette County District Attorney's Office reported the incident, which occurred around 1:30 p.m. Authorities found the children in a room described as a 'dungeon' with no beds, boarded-up windows, feces on the walls, fleas, limited clothing, and no food. The room was secured with three deadbolt locks and no internal handle, and monitored by video cameras connected to James Russell Kahl's room. The children were confined for part of the day and all night. A Common Pleas judge ordered the immediate removal of the six children, who were placed under the care of Fayette County Children and Youth Services.
