Rivian Announces New East Coast Headquarters in Atlanta with 500 Planned Jobs
Electric vehicle maker Rivian announced on Thursday that it will open its new East Coast headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, specifically along the Atlanta Beltline’s Eastside Trail in the Junction Krog District building. The company will occupy the top floor and lobby space at this location.
Georgia Governor Brian Kemp commented on Rivian’s expansion, stating that the move is "the latest demonstration of their commitment to the Peach State."
Rivian CEO RJ Scaringe said in a press release, "We are excited to open our headquarters in Atlanta."
As part of its economic development agreement with the state, Rivian is required to meet 80% of its $5 billion investment and create 7,500 jobs by December 31, 2030. The agreement also requires Rivian to maintain these jobs and the specified level of investment through 2049, according to statements from Georgia officials.
The announcement follows last year’s halt of construction on Rivian’s larger planned compound located approximately 50 miles east of Atlanta, on a 2,000-acre property straddling Walton and Morgan counties. Rivian now plans to begin vehicle manufacturing operations in Georgia in 2026, though the new headquarters announcement is a separate initiative focused on corporate presence and job growth in the city of Atlanta.
Rivian stated it plans to create 500 jobs at the new Atlanta headquarters.
No further technical or procedural information about the headquarters buildout or staffing process was detailed in the announcement.
