Sumitomo Corporation, Apollo, and Partners to Acquire Air Lease for $7.4 Billion
On September 2, Sumitomo Corporation, SMBC Aviation Capital, Apollo, and Brookfield announced they have reached a definitive agreement to acquire aircraft leasing company Air Lease. After the completion of the transaction, Air Lease will be renamed Sumisho Air Lease. Apollo and Brookfield have agreed to provide financial support for the transaction. Under the terms of the agreement, Air Lease common shareholders will receive $65.00 in cash per share, with a total valuation of approximately $7.4 billion.
