On July 1, 2025, Tesla announced a price increase for its China-made Model 3 Long Range version, raising the starting price from ¥275,500 to ¥285,500. This adjustment coincides with significant enhancements to both the Model 3 Long Range and Model Y Long Range versions. The Model 3 now boasts an upgraded CLTC range of 753 kilometers and a reduced acceleration time to 3.8 seconds for 0-100 km/h, achieved through a new performance software package that replaces the prior hardware upgrade which cost ¥14,100. Additionally, the Model Y Long Range has also seen improvements with its range now set at 750 kilometers, while its price remains unchanged at ¥313,500.

Tesla has introduced a new battery package with enhanced chemistry that improves durability and overall vehicle range without altering the battery capacity. Customers who place orders by July 31 can benefit from various promotional offers, including a ¥8,000 subsidy for insurance and paint options, as well as a 5-year interest-free financing plan. Notably, the latest data from China’s Passenger Car Association reported that in May, Tesla’s wholesale sales in China hit 61,700 units, with the Model Y accounting for 24,800 units and the Model 3 contributing 13,800 units to the total. These updates reflect Tesla's ongoing strategy to enhance product offerings and attract more customers amid competitive market dynamics in China, particularly as the electric vehicle sector grows rapidly.
