Trump Requests Supreme Court to Allow Firing of FTC Democratic Member
2025-09-05 04:33

U.S. President Donald Trump has requested the Supreme Court to permit him to fire Rebecca Kelly Slaughter, the last remaining Democratic member of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). This action could challenge a 1935 ruling that protects certain senior officials from being dismissed at will and might increase the White House's control over national regulatory bodies.
