Two Men Arrested for Detonating Firework at Harvard Medical School
Logan David Patterson (18) and Dominick Frank Cardoza (20) from Massachusetts were arrested for allegedly detonating a firework inside a laboratory locker on the fourth floor of the Goldenson Building at Harvard University around 3:00 AM on Saturday. The suspects were seen on security video around 2:33 a.m. near the medical building, wearing face coverings and lighting what appeared to be a Roman candle firework. They are charged with conspiracy to damage the property by means of fire or an explosive. If convicted, they could face up to five years in prison, three years of supervised release, and a fine of up to $250,000. The suspects were seen climbing scaffolding to access the roof before fleeing. No one was injured, and the arrests were made following public tips after the release of security footage by Harvard police. Multiple law enforcement agencies, including university, local, and state police, were involved in the arrests. One suspect allegedly tried to discard the pants he was wearing during the incident, and both reportedly boasted about the event to their friends.
