2025-09-06 09:05

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy declined an invitation from Russian President Vladimir Putin to meet in Moscow. Zelenskyy suggested instead that Putin come to Kyiv, stating that he cannot go to Moscow while Ukraine is under ongoing missile attacks. Zelenskyy and Raddatz visited a recently Russian-missile-attacked, American-owned manufacturing plant in western Ukraine. Zelenskyy stated that Putin is not seeking a meeting with him as the war continues. However, Putin claimed he is open to meeting Zelenskyy if he comes to Moscow. In a recent interview, Zelenskyy rejected Putin's offer to postpone their meeting, stating he was ready to meet in any format. Zelenskyy accused Putin of playing games with the United States. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha mentioned that seven countries, including Austria, the Holy See, Switzerland, Türkiye, and three Gulf states, are prepared to host peace talks.
