American uranium producer Energy Fuels has agreed to acquire Australian Strategic Materials (ASM) for 447 million Australian dollars (approximately 300.9 million US dollars), representing a 121% premium. The acquisition is aimed at enhancing the security of the Western supply chain for rare earth elements. Following the completion of the transaction, ASM's metal chemical plant in South Korea and its planned metal factory in the United States will be integrated with Energy Fuels' rare earth oxide production line in White Mesa, Utah. After the announcement, ASM's stock price surged by 126% to 1.63 Australian dollars.
